If you work from home even a couple of days a week, small upgrades make a big difference: a comfortable mouse, a keyboard that’s nice to type on, headphones that block out the house, and Wi-Fi that actually reaches the box room. These also make great gifts for anyone who works at a desk.
We haven’t tested these products ourselves. Our picks are based on independent expert reviews (linked below) and the manufacturers’ specifications. Prices change often, so each product links to today’s price.

Wi-Fi that reaches every room
Lots of Irish homes have Wi-Fi blackspots, especially two-storey houses and older homes with thick walls. A mesh system like the TP-Link Deco M4 spreads one network across the whole house. Digital Citizen gave it 4 out of 5 for its easy setup, value and parental controls. It’s Wi-Fi 5, so if you have very fast gigabit broadband it won’t give you full speed.

TP-Link Deco M4 Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi System (3-pack)
Best for: Fixing Wi-Fi blackspots
A simple, affordable way to spread Wi-Fi around a bigger house, with easy app setup and good parental controls. It’s Wi-Fi 5, so it won’t get the most from very fast broadband, but for most Irish homes it’s good value at this price.
What we like
- Easy setup through the Deco app
- Good value for 3 units
- Simple parental controls
- 2 Ethernet ports on each unit
Watch out for
- Wi-Fi 5, not Wi-Fi 6
- Can’t make full use of 1Gbps connections
- No web admin page
