Which cookies DealDepot.ie uses (very few), and what happens when you click through to a store.

This page explains which cookies and similar technologies DealDepot.ie uses, and what happens when you click through to a store. We keep this short and honest: we only use what we need to run the site.
The short version
- DealDepot.ie does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- We do not currently use analytics cookies (like Google Analytics).
- Our “Compare” feature remembers your chosen products in your own browser. That information never leaves your device.
- When you click a deal and go to a store (like Amazon.ie), that store sets its own cookies on its own website. That is how stores know we referred you.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies, like your browser’s “local storage”, work in a similar way. Some are needed for a site to work; others are used to measure visits or show ads. Under Irish and EU law (the ePrivacy Regulations and GDPR), a website must ask for your consent before using anything that isn’t strictly necessary.
What we use on DealDepot.ie

Both are strictly necessary for features you ask for, so they don’t need consent. If you never use Compare and never log in, DealDepot.ie stores nothing in your browser.
When you click through to a store
Our deal buttons are affiliate links. When you click one, you leave DealDepot.ie and go to the store’s website. The store (or the affiliate network that runs its programme, such as Amazon Associates or Awin) then sets a cookie on its own website to record that you came from us. If you buy something, the store pays us a small commission. You pay the same price.
Those cookies are controlled by the store, not by us, and the store’s own cookie banner and policy apply. You can find them here:

Videos
Some product pages include YouTube review videos. We embed them in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), so YouTube does not set cookies just because you load our page. If you press play, YouTube may store information in your browser under Google’s privacy policy.
If this changes
If we add analytics or anything else that isn’t strictly necessary, we will show a cookie banner and ask for your permission first, and update this page. Nothing optional will be switched on without your consent.
How to control cookies
You can see, block and delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time:
Blocking cookies on DealDepot.ie won’t stop the site working, though Compare won’t remember your list.
