Cyber Monday is the last big day of the Black Friday weekend, and for many Irish shoppers it’s the final chance to grab a deal before Christmas shopping gets serious. But is it really different from Black Friday, and are the deals any better? Here’s what to expect in Ireland this year and how to make sure a deal is genuine.
When is Cyber Monday 2026?
Cyber Monday 2026 is on Monday 30 November, three days after Black Friday on Friday 27 November. Currys Ireland has confirmed both dates for its sales. Many shops treat the whole stretch from Black Friday to Cyber Monday as one long “Black Friday weekend”, and some start their sales a week or more before.
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| Mid–late November | Early Black Friday deals start at many shops. Last year Amazon’s Black Friday Week in Europe ran from 20 November to 1 December 2025. |
| Friday 27 November | Black Friday: the biggest day of the sales. |
| Saturday 28 – Sunday 29 November | Black Friday weekend: most deals continue. |
| Monday 30 November | Cyber Monday: final sale day for many shops, often with new online-only offers. |
| Early December | Some shops extend into “Cyber Week”; then the run-up to Christmas begins. |
We keep the confirmed dates for each shop updated on our Black Friday deals page.
What is Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday started in the US in 2005, when the National Retail Federation came up with it as an online shopping day after the Thanksgiving weekend. The idea was that people would go back to work on Monday and shop online. Today the line between Black Friday and Cyber Monday has blurred, especially in Ireland, where Black Friday has been mostly online for years.
Black Friday vs Cyber Monday: what’s the difference?
| Black Friday | Cyber Monday | |
|---|---|---|
| Date (2026) | Friday 27 November | Monday 30 November |
| Where | In store and online | Mostly online |
| Typical deals | Big-ticket items: TVs, laptops, appliances, consoles | Often tech, smaller electronics, fashion, beauty, subscriptions and travel |
| Length | Often a week or more | Usually one day, sometimes extended to “Cyber Week” |
| Stock | Best choice early on | Popular items may already be sold out |
In practice, many of the same deals run across both days. Some shops launch a fresh set of offers on Monday or cut prices further on items that haven’t sold, while others simply end their Black Friday sale. Last year in Ireland, for example, the Irish Times reported Cyber Monday offers from Currys, DID Electrical, airlines and beauty and skincare brands, while Arnotts and Brown Thomas used it as the last day of their Black Friday sales.
Are Cyber Monday deals actually good?
Some are, many aren’t. UK consumer group Which? tracked the prices of 175 home, tech and health products at eight major retailers for six months either side of Black Friday 2024. It found that 83% were the same price or cheaper at least once outside the sales period, and none of the deals it checked were at their cheapest price of the year on Black Friday itself. Ireland has some different shops, but the lesson is the same: a “deal” isn’t automatically the best price.
How to check a deal is real
- Check the “was” price. In Ireland, shops advertising a price reduction must show the lowest price they charged in the previous 30 days. If the “was” price looks high, check the small print.
- Compare shops. Look up the exact model number at two or three reputable Irish shops.
- Watch out for special models. Some TVs and appliances sold during Black Friday have slightly different model numbers with fewer features.
- Ignore countdown clocks. Urgency is a sales tactic; most deals last longer than the clock suggests, and many come back.
- Think about need, not discount. 30% off something you don’t need isn’t a saving.
At DealDepot we only list a deal when the price is genuinely lower than the shop’s usual price, RRP or other Irish shops we checked. Read more on our how we make money and about us pages, or see our Black Friday guide.
What’s usually worth buying on Cyber Monday
- Tech accessories: headphones, earbuds, speakers, smartwatches and gaming headsets.
- Small appliances: air fryers, coffee machines, vacuum cleaners.
- Toys and LEGO: often discounted ahead of Christmas, but popular sets sell out.
- Beauty and grooming: gift sets, shavers, stylers and skincare.
- Subscriptions and services: streaming, software and memberships often have Cyber Monday offers.
- Travel: airlines and travel sites often run Cyber Monday seat sales.
Useful guides: gaming headsets, air fryer running costs, vacuum cleaner deals, noise cancelling headphones and LEGO gifts.
Stay safe from scams
Scammers are busiest during the big sales. In November 2025, the CCPC warned that Irish consumers are being targeted by increasingly sophisticated online scams, including cloned versions of trusted websites and fake local shops advertised on social media. Its advice is “Stop, Search, Stay safe”.
- Buy through the shop’s official website or app, not through a link in a social media ad, text message or email.
- Be wary of huge discounts (such as “up to 80% off”), unfamiliar websites, brand-new social media pages and shops with only five-star reviews.
- Check independent reviews before buying from a shop you don’t know.
- Pay by credit card, debit card or a trusted payment provider such as PayPal, never by direct bank transfer.
- Watch for fake delivery texts asking you to pay a small fee or click a link.
- If you think you’ve been scammed, contact your bank straight away (you may be able to get a chargeback) and report it to your local Garda station.
Your rights still apply
Sale items come with the same rights as full-price ones. If something you buy on Cyber Monday is faulty, the seller must put it right. If you buy online from an Irish or EU seller, you usually have 14 days from delivery to change your mind. Remember that the 14 days start on delivery, so a gift bought on Cyber Monday may be outside that window by Christmas: check the shop’s own Christmas returns policy too. When is Cyber Monday 2026 in Ireland?
Monday 30 November 2026, the Monday after Black Friday (Friday 27 November).
Is Cyber Monday better than Black Friday?
Not usually. Many deals run across both days. Black Friday tends to have the widest choice, while Cyber Monday sometimes brings extra online-only offers or further cuts on unsold stock.
Do Irish shops do Cyber Monday?
Yes. Many Irish retailers, including Currys, run Cyber Monday sales or extend their Black Friday deals to Monday. Airlines and online brands also run offers.
How do I know a Cyber Monday deal is real?
Check the “was” price (it must be the lowest price in the previous 30 days), compare the exact model at other Irish shops and ignore countdown clocks.
